Point…? I do pray for and submit to my leaders. (Which, by the way, you’re not to me. I don’t know you.)
Indeed.
And…? Are you some how insinuating, though you’ve never met me, that I don’t think about and pray for my leaders?
YouTube though is not a church and is a place for discussion. If you don’t like your views being challenged and you’re not able to defend them (which you haven’t by the way; you’ve just resorted to calling me a heathen and such) then a public forum isn’t the best place for you to go to.
I’m still awaiting your answers to my initial responses.
No, I wouldn’t call a minister out in church. That’s not respectful and wrong. I would though show him his error, if it was as grave as this in some way. You can bet your bottom dollar that I would. This hatred that some have toward the NIV and other translations is infinitely more divisive than someone showing someone where they are flat out wrong.
Did my mentioning of the “f” word hurt you? If so, I’m sorry. But, making accusations against a translation of the Bible (which are so easily refuted) are complete and utter foolishness. I’m sorry, but it just is. Rememer too: you’re the one that is calling me a heathen, one seeking to have my ears tickled, and so on simply because I don’t accept your view that the NIV is “improper”.
(Do you see the non-compatibility of saying that I’m defending the NIV and yet causing strife? lol)
There is nothing wrong with defending a translation against baseless charges. You’ve still yet to defend your accusations against the NIV.
I am not causing and seeking strife. If you look up, you’re the one that initially said that the NIV is “improper”. Much less am I seeking strife against Scripture (whatever that is supposed to mean). Unless of course, if by strife, you mean telling people the truth and showing them the error of their ways, then yes, I am seeking strife.
tom: You don’t use the NIV but you are defending it, accusing others, etc. You are causing and seeking strife, against scripture. This action is exactly what the bible calls a heathen, a fool and an unwise man.
Do you walk into churches and tell ministers what they teach is foolishness? If no, obviously you leave that respect at the door.
tom:
Psalm 94:8
Understand, ye brutish among the people:
and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
tom:
1Peter 5:5
Likewise, ye younger,
submit yourselves unto the elder.
Yea, all of you be subject one to another,
and be clothed with humility:
for YHWH resisteth the proud,
and giveth favour to the humble.
tom:
Hebrews 13:17
Obey them that have the rule over you,
and submit yourselves:
for they watch for your souls,
as they that must give account,
that they may do it with joy,
and not with grief:
for that is unprofitable for you.
tom:
Hebrews 13:7
Remember them which have the rule over you,
who have spoken unto you
the word of YHWH:
whose faith follow,
considering the end of their conversation.
throwing verses around saying that I “hate instruction” and am “part of a rebellious house” simply because I don’t agree with you is foolish.
further accusations against me, saying that I don’t crave sound doctrine, hate correction, and am part of a rebellious house. What is that? Perhaps you’re the one that hates instruction.
So, I would like to hear your responses to what I’ve said in earlier posts; the TR having verses added to it (as well as it not being the oldest manuscript family), meaning NOT changing in the NIV, and Zondervan NOT publishing the Satanic Bible.
If you don’t have anything to say, just say so. But to start
Yeah, and? I’m not disputing sound doctrine. So that verse is out the window. It has nothing at all to do with this. (Unless you believe for some reason that rejecting the NIV is sound doctrine.)
I am not hating reproof either. Saying that the NIV isn’t “improper” is not a sin and thus doesn’t require rebuking.
You haven’t instructed me on anything anyway. You made accusations, I pointed out how fallacious they were and you’ve said nothing back to what I said, choosing rather to make
tom:
2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
tom:
Proverbs 12:1
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
For the record, I don’t use the NIV. But to say that the NIV is “improper” is borderline foolishness.
No, I haven’t been “arrogant” nor “high minded”.
Do you always just dismiss what people say when it goes against what you believe?
Too much “change”in too short of a time.Sort of what we have dealt with since January of last year.
tomopotamus: Are you always this arrogant and high minded around ministers who offer you aid?
Ezekiel 12:2.
By the way, Zondervan also publishes the King James Version! D:
So, with your reasoning, the King James Version should be considered to be no good!
Besides, there are several companies that print the NIV anyway.
I know what your referring to.
Believe what you want, but in reality, verses were added to the King James Version. More correctly, the text that the KJV is based on (which isn’t entirely Greek by the way). Meaning isn’t changed either. To believe that that’s the case shows low reading comprehension or you just believe what others have told you.
Zondervan itself doesn’t print the Satanic Bible. Get your facts straight. Harper-Collins may print the Satanic Bible, but Zondervan does not.
tomopotamus: Just do a video search “NIV errors”. Sit and compare a NIV to a KJV or other versions. You will realize verses are missing, altered and even flipped in meaning. Those who print the NIV also print the Satanic bible.
