Boise, ID (PRWEB) May 16, 2012

In its third annual CICS report released today, H&W Computer Systems (H&W) is disclosing the results and analysis of the 2012 CICS® survey that leading mainframe publication z/Journal conducted. In addition to announcing the 2012 results, the new report compares this year’s findings to those from 2011 and 2010 and explains their significance in the context of the modern IT environment. H&W is providing these findings through a special arrangement with z/Journal.

“Normally, we don’t release results that we collect in surveys we perform, but the data in this CICS survey is compelling in demonstrating the continuing vibrancy of CICS in satisfying business requirements,” said Bob Thomas, publisher of z/Journal. “As was the case with this survey in the past two years, only compiled data in aggregated form is being revealed. This makes us comfortable releasing the survey results, which we believe will be truly useful to organizations with mainframes.”

Compiled from responses from 110 IT professionals with architecture responsibilities within IT organizations that use both z/OS® and CICS, the z/Journal survey results provide respondents’ views about the importance of CICS to the business, current challenges and solutions, and the business-critical data that CICS accesses.

The H&W report explains this data and analyzes it to discover the significant findings. These findings include who is most likely to adopt new CICS releases, what are the challenges in regard to CICS’ access to data, and what are the business issues driving the need to solve those challenges. “The third annual z/Journal survey allows us to see trends emerging in the CICS space,” said Celeste Schmidt, marketing manager at H&W. “The H&W report offers findings to help organizations that use CICS and their associated data sources. Readers can learn what their peers are doing and hopefully, apply that knowledge to their situations.”

Key findings include:

More than half of respondents said at least 51 percent of their business critical applications are used online through CICS.
Regarding the importance of CICS applications, 91 percent of respondents said they were Extremely important or Very important.
Respondents cited four top CICS challenges, and the top answer for addressing them was unanticipated.
CICS primarily relies on two data sources, one of which might be unexpected.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

Unlike scholarships, theloanpayback.com only requires that anyone have an outstanding school loan to enter. A subsidiary of an educational agency registered with the state of New York, this promotion serves to ease the financial burdens of those who have incurred a huge amount of debt from college tuition, room, board and other necessary expenses. The next scheduled pay back takes place on May 25, 2012. Users can text keyword LOANPAY to 48510 safely and securely from an iPhone, Android or other device.

Rather than emphasizing money as the most important factor, The Loan Payback presents a unique solution to a complex problem: the incorporation of new ideas into the latest technology to help U.S. college students eradicate loan debt. Some people may not win the promotion, but everyone gains a reference guide. Fausta Tamburino, parent of a student at the prestigious Horace Mann School in New York City, assures that “this organization fulfills its purpose to help students who really need it in these dire times.”

Nearly everyone under deadlines lacks the patience for searching through pages of citation manuals and books. The Loan Payback helps people find what they are looking for in easy-to-use, one double-sided page reference guides that outline citation formats for various types of media. The promotion also highlights the most confusing grammar errors to show correct usage.

The promotion’s iCashMob on Twitter raises awareness about the plight of struggling students by attracting the support of Cash Mob groups nationwide. The Loan Payback plans to make $ 20,000 loan payments in the names of lucky individuals.

Many students, in lieu of entering the workforce, opt to attend graduate school or other programs only to accumulate more loan debt. This critical time calls for an effective solution. What about the working person with student debt owed from years ago? Anyone with a student loan can enter. Visit http://www.theloanpayback.com for details.

“Since I was in middle school, I had always dreamed I’d get to make my very own designs for a real fashion studio,” said Caitlyn, winner of Sweety High’s Be a Star: Make your way to the runway fashion design contest. “I’m so excited to make something that other girls will wear and to see my inspiration for a beautiful design.”

BeBop clothing will welcome the new winners to BeBop’s Design Studio in Los Angeles for a special Sweety High shoot chronicling their adventures in the world of fashion design.

“BeBop is a huge believer in the Sweety High mission,” said Michael Weisberg, CEO of Second Generation, Inc. “Designing clothing for girls is what we do day in and day out, so this project had very special meaning for us. To give the girls of Sweety High a chance to make their dreams of being a designer a reality was an opportunity that we could not pass up. Everyone at BeBop was impressed with the quality of designs produced by the community. Congratulations to everyone involved with this project and the girls who submitted their fantastic designs.
GeoPot has added tan and black to their unique color palette

Petaluma, CA (PRWEB) March 02, 2012

A local Bay Area hydroponics supplies company, GeoPot, now features its GeoPot product line in a new and exciting color option: Tan. This latest color option gives gardeners more choices when designing their personal landscape. GeoPot understands how important color palettes are to the interiors of a home, and now gardeners have the opportunity to bring more choices to the outdoors!

The combination of the tan GeoPot and the black GeoPot can create endless possibilities for a unique color palette that can bring unity to the design and overall look of the garden. The black color option provides a versatile backdrop, drawing the eye to the dramatic contrast of garden plants, while the new tan option softly melds into the natural landscape, which enhances cool plant colors, such as blue, green or purple, as these colors work in harmony with one another.

GeoPot is a self-supporting breathable fabric plant pot that air prunes a plant’s roots when they reach the edge of the container. This air root pruning process forces the roots to branch out with more fibrous feeder roots, which are more efficient in taking up water and nutrients. The porous fabric also allows air into the root zone, providing for great drainage and creating a healthy environment for the roots. With the combination of air root pruning, creating a better root structure and the aeration of the root zone, the plant can reach its full potential.

Bay Area planter boxes company, GeoPot will be participating in the Sonoma County Home & Garden Show from March 18 through March 20 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa. Please stop by and visit the GeoPot booth for more information on the benefit and convenience of the GeoPot product line.

To purchase GeoPot products, visit their website for a list of their retail stores locations in the Bay Area. GeoPot can also be purchased through their convenient online store. Online orders via their website receive 10-percent off. Offer is valid from March 1 through June 1. Enter “spring2012” code into the coupon area during check out.

Always remember, GeoPot keep gardeners “true to their roots” by helping them grow strong, vigorous plants – even in harsh climates.

For more information about any of GeoPot’s products, call 1-855-214-1835 or visit the company on the web at http://www.geoplanter.com.

About GeoPot

Dennis Hunter and his family and friends are avid gardeners. With twenty years of hands-in-the-soil gardening experiences, Hunter developed the self-supporting GeoPot and PVC-framed GeoPlanter to make gardening easier and more fulfilling. Both the self-supporting GeoPot and the PVC-framed GeoPlanter, a planter box, allow for the optimization of root zone dynamics and versatility. They can even be machine-washed and reused.

Through the Westchester Children’s Museum, the Museum Without Walls program provides regional students with hands-on, science-inspired educational activities that are full of fun and discovery.

Westchester County, NY (PRWEB) December 21, 2011

As Westchester Children’s Museum (WCM) begins to ready its new brick-and-mortar home in the historic North Bathhouse of Playland Park in Rye, N.Y., its Museum Without Walls program has been traveling to local community centers to provide students with hands-on educational activities that are full of fun and discovery. With a mission to engage regional children in exploratory learning and provide the same opportunities for future generations, there’s no better time than the season of giving to donate to the Westchester Children’s Museum.

Museum Without Walls programs are taught by volunteer educators and feature lessons about science, technology, engineering and math. Launched in March 2010, Museum Without Walls has helped children explore concepts of magnetism, DNA extraction, and solar and wind energy, as well as learn about whales, sharks and other wonders of the natural world. Students also participate in the creative arts through music, learn about cultural diversity through an innovative mask-making exercise, and examine environmental and sustainability issues through paper and book-making projects.

“Museum Without Walls offers diverse programs that provide kids with the opportunity to experience unique activities that are both educational and exciting,” said Brian Skanes, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester. Mary Thomas, Director of the White Plains YWCA’s Kids Connection, agrees, adding, “The need has never been greater for this type of community collaboration.”

As declining school budgets continue to eliminate out-of-school enrichment programs, Museum Without Walls has steadily grown to provide an interactive learning environment to nurture and encourage the imaginations of future scientists, engineers, artists, and productive citizens. With your support, WCM can provide programs for children most in need of out-of- school-time activities throughout Westchester County, N.Y. and southern Fairfield County, Connecticut. Museum Without Walls programs are privately funded by generous corporate, foundation, and individual supporters.

To take advantage of the museum’s secure online giving options, please visit http://www.discoverWCM.org. For more information or to learn about other ways to help Westchester Children’s Museum, please call 914-421-5050.

About Westchester Children’s Museum

Westchester Children’s Museum (WCM) will be a learning laboratory providing children, families, and school groups throughout Westchester County and the surrounding region with the opportunity to nurture curiosity, enhance knowledge, and ignite imagination through hands-on exploration. WCM is committed to broadening knowledge of the arts, the environment, multiculturalism, and the local and global communities in an educational and recreational atmosphere. The Westchester County Board of Legislators recently granted WCM a home at the historic Rye Playland North Bathhouse, where families will learn and explore through state-of-the-art exhibits. Until its physical home is built, WCM is dedicated to fulfilling its educational mission through its Museum Without Walls program, which has brought hands-on educational programs to nearly 3,000 children since launching in March 2010. For more information about WCM, please visit http://www.discoverWCM.org.

FALLON, Nev. (PRWEB) November 04, 2011

In her new romantic suspense novel “The Pegasus Passion – The Soul Keepers” (published by AuthorHouse) Victoria James weaves a tale of adventure and self discovery, bringing to life unique characters and a heroine whose journey forces her to see who she is and what she is capable of.

The year is 1666. Terrance, captain of the Pegasus, fell in love with Sybil Chandler the first moment he saw her 17 years before. He wanted to take Sybil and her daughter Jillian with him to live as a family, but when Sybil refused he was left with no choice but to leave without her and take only Jillian. Little did he know that his actions would not only change his life, but cause a chain of events that would guide them all on a voyage of enchantment and danger.

Jillian dreams of a life of adventure. In an instant, her simple life vanishes when she is kidnapped by pirates. Met with danger and adventure beyond her wildest dreams, Jillian finds that she has powers and abilities that she doesn’t fully understand.

She finds love with Gavin, the handsome first mate. When they consummate their love, a prophecy is fulfilled – a prophecy that holds captive a family of women who are the keepers of the souls.

Through unimaginable strife, adventure and survival, Jillian discovers how to use her powers to conquer the evil that is determined to destroy them all.

“The Pegasus Passion” will appeal to romance readers,” James says, “who enjoy an exciting read with a little spice. It is full of adventure and self-discovery, as well as two romantic relationships.”

About the Author

Victoria James and her family – including four children and four grandchildren – live in Fallon, Nevada. She enjoys painting, reading, crocheting and gardening, and is currently working on an associate’s degree. James practices Reiki and kinesiology. “The Pegasus Passion” is her first novel.
